The variations in handloom products:

There are no standardized criteria for determining whether a weaving irregularity constitutes a defect. However, generally, the following points are considered part of the weaving variations in a handloom saree and are NOT classified as defects:

  • The small knots or bumps in threads that are occasionally visible occur when broken threads are joined together. This is not deemed a defect.

  • Irregularities in threads connecting the border to the body are also not regarded as defects.

  • Slubs are residual threads bundled together in tiny knots.

  • Minute gaps may be observed in and around motifs.

  • Minute thread gaps can be found around motifs, as well as in the body and pallu.

  • Occasionally, dyed threads may appear to run over the pallu with Zari threads, resembling color 'bleeding' from the body to the pallu. However, this effect is a result of the powerloom working with dyed thread and is not considered a defect.

  • Colors can be a complex issue. We describe the saree colors based on the hues of the threads used in the warp and weft. However, when two different hues meet, they may combine to create an entirely different color when viewed on our website.

    We define defects as follows:

  • Any tear in the saree

  • An incorrect length compared to what was stated

  • A missing blouse piece (if it was mentioned that the saree comes with one)

Rest assured, our quality check team meticulously inspects each product to ensure that you receive only the highest quality items!
